Landing Pages, Websites, and Sales Funnels (Oh My!): Which One Do We Need?

When it comes to creating landing pages, websites, and sales funnels, there’s a lot of confusion out there.

Many people don’t understand the difference between these three types of pages.

I’m going to cut through all the confusion in this blog post.

I’m also going to show you how to create each type of page.

Let’s have a quick look at the three of these before we get started…

What is a Landing Page?

A landing page is a single web page that appears after someone clicks on an advertisement or a link.

The goal of a landing page is to persuade the visitor to take some sort of action, such as signing up for a newsletter, downloading a free ebook, or making a purchase.

Most landing pages look like sales pages on steroids!

They typically include the following elements:

A high quality image (often of the product or service being sold)

Headline – which attempts to quickly get the reader’s attention

Content box Testimonials

Offer/call to action button

Social proof e.g. “sold out”

The landing page itself is rarely more than a few pages long.  It’s where you present your offer to the potential customer, and hopefully convince him or her to buy something!

What is a Sales Funnel?

A sales funnel is the process that your customer goes through on their way to making a purchase.

There are a lot of different steps in the sales funnel, and it can vary from business to business.

But typically, the sales funnel includes the following steps:

Prospecting – finding potential customers Attracting – getting potential customers interested in what you have to offer

Engaging – getting potential customers to learn more about your product

Converting – getting potential customers to buy your product

Retaining – keeping customers happy and engaged after they’ve made a purchase

A sales funnel is the process that you use to turn leads into customers.

It’s a very important part of any business, and it’s something that you should definitely invest in!

What is a Website?

A website is a collection of web pages that are connected to each other.  One page leads to another, and the overall experience is very linear!

For example, you might have a “Home” page, a “About Us” page, a “Contact Us” page, and several product or service descriptions.

The goal of any business is to use their website to generate leads and/or sell products.

Websites are one of the most important tools in any online business.

That’s because they give you a place to promote your offer, provide information, answer questions, handle complaints…the list goes on!

Well,  now that we’ve cleared all that up, let’s move on to the good stuff!

Do you know what’s better?

All three of these things!

Yes, that’s right – you don’t have to choose just one.

In fact, you should use all three of these things in order to maximize your results.

You can build any one of these three with ClickFunnels!

Now that we know what a landing page, sales funnel, and website are, let’s move on to how to create them with ClickFunnels.

How To Create A Landing Page In ClickFunnels

Creating a landing page in ClickFunnels is very easy.

In fact, there are only three steps:

1. Identifying Your Goal

You should always start by identifying the goal of the page you’re creating.

Why are you creating it?

What do you want your visitors to do when they get there?

For example, if I were creating a landing page for an online course about blog marketing, my goal might be: To generate leads and/or sell the course

2. Creating the Page Layout

Once you know your goal, it’s time to create the page layout.

This is where you’ll include your headline, content box, testimonials, and offer/call to action button.

You’ll also want to make sure that your page is visually appealing and easy to navigate.

3. Adding the Final Touches

Once you have your page layout created, it’s time to add the final touches.

This includes adding your website’s logo, adding tracking codes, and configuring your settings.

Let’s go thru how to build each of them, one by one…

Creating Landing Page In ClickFunnels

Let’s begin with “How to create your landing pages with ClickFunnels”.

Like we mentioned above the goal of a landing page is to generate leads and/or sell products.

Let’s take a look at one of the best examples of a landing page.

https://www.netflix.com/mo-en/

If you haven’t heard of Netflix before, it’s a website where you can watch streaming movies and TV shows.

You can see that Netflix offers you to enjoy their services by capturing your email.

And at the bottom of the landing page, they have a “Frequently Asked Questions”.

Let’s build a landing page for “Spencer’s ClickFunnels Power Course”.

Step 1: ClickFunnels Login To Your Dashboard.

If you don’t have a ClickFunnels account yet you can create one here.

Summary

The goal for the above landing page is an example of lead capture landing page where i offer a free course in exchange for their emails.

I put up the free course as a lead magnet.

Once they submit form, they will be send to account creation page.

After they create their membership account they will gain access to the free course in membership area.

Finally we will do a follow up sequence with them via email marketing.

Now that you know about lead magnet landing page, let’s get down to business and start building your website!

How To Create A Website In ClickFunnels

Let’s create a website following the 3 steps we mentioned above.

1. Identifying Your Goal

2. Creating the Page Layout

3. Adding the Final Touches

The goal of a website is to provide information about a business or individual, and to persuade visitors to take action, such as making a purchase or contacting the business.

When creating your website, you’ll need to first decide on its layout.

This will involve creating pages for your website and organizing them in a way that is easy for your visitors to navigate.

You’ll also need to add content to your pages, such as text, images, and videos.

And don’t forget to include a call to action on each page, so that your visitors know what you want them to do.

Finally, you’ll need to make sure your website looks professional and polished.

This can be done by adding design elements such as a custom header and footer, and by choosing a color scheme that reflects your brand.

Now that you have a basic understanding of how to create a website in ClickFunnels, let’s take a look at some of the pages you’ll need to create.

Creating Home Page In ClickFunnels

Your home page is the first thing your visitors will see when they come to your website. It should include an introduction to your business, and should tell visitors what you do, how you do it, who you help, why they should choose you, and how to contact you.

For this blog let’s build a home page using one of the best Personal Trainer in the world.

So i googled and search for the best personal trainer in the world.

https://www.instituteofpersonaltrainers.com/blog/best-personal-trainers-world

And i decided to use this one in particular as an example.

Let’s take a look a the pages in this website:

  1. Front Page
  2. Offer Page
  3. About Page
  4. Testimonials Page
  5. Newsletter Page
  6. Contact Page
  7. Lead Magnet Page
  8. Membership Area

We already build a lead magnet page above, so for now we will build a front page following this cool website by Shaun.

Front Page

The front page of this website is actually build with 5 sections.

Section 1: Header and Call to Action

Section 2: Quote

Section 3: Hub Area

Section 4: Call To Action For Affiliate Products

Section 5: Footer

Now we have that in mind let’s build the website in ClickFunnels!

We will choose collect emails and begin with a blank template.

The default section for blank template is wide width. I like to go with full width for this case. So we will delete the section default section and replace with full width section.

Section 1

Add a new section>Full Width>Add New Row>6 Columns

Column 1: Insert Image element for you logo

Column 6: Insert icon element for menu

Then we will Add New Row with one column

Column: Insert headline element for call to action

Under call to action we will add sub headline element.

After that we add new button element just under the sub headline.

Now that we done with our 1st Section.

Let’s proceed to Section 2.

Section 2

Add a new section>Full Width>Add New Row>1 Columns

Add headline element and sub headline right under it.

Section 3

For section 3 we gonna do something different. Here is how we do it.

Add a new section>Full Width>Add New Row>2 Columns

Column 1: Insert Headline follow by a button

Colum 2: Insert Headline follow by a button

You can clone the section by hover to the section and press clone.

Note: We added a little CSS to section 3.

Ps: I don’t have cool video like Shaun did.

Section 4

For section 4 it is just image so for our case we will just get a illustration as above.

Add a new section>Full Width>Add New Row>1 Columns

Column 1: Insert Image element

Section 5

And finally, for the footer area we are use 3 columns.

Add a new section>Full Width>Add New Row>3 Columns

Column 1: Insert image

Colum 2: Empty

Column 3: Icon x 3

Add a new row for T&C. Using navigation.

Congratulations!
