ClickFunnels for Trading: What is a Sales Funnel?

A Sales Funnel uses one landing page with different offers on it to get traffic from different sources, mainly the internet.

It’s called a ‘Sales Funnel’ because that’s what it looks like—a funnel.

You start at the wide top of the funnel, where the large traffic sources are.

Then, you make your way down the funnel, where your landing page is.

At this point, you direct traffic to different ‘squeeze pages’ or offers on this one landing page through targeted advertising.

These squeeze pages may be for a free offer (such as a book) or a paid offer (such as a paid webinar).

Either way, the goal is to get as many people as possible to give you their contact information—name and email.

ClickFunnels for Trading: Why are Sales Funnels Important for Traders?

You might be wondering why this funneling process matters to traders at all.

After all, if your goal is to turn visitors into customers, why does it matter how they get to your landing page?

Well, the short answer is that if you’re not tracking what happens after someone submits their contact information on your squeeze pages, then you’re losing out on money.

For every 100 people who give you their name and email address, maybe 20 of them will buy from you.

That means that 80 people won’t.

So, what happens to those 80 people?

What do they do with the information that you’ve collected from them?

Well, if you don’t know, then you can’t follow up with them.

You don’t know how else to reach them or what else you can offer them.

If your goal is to turn visitors into customers, then the last thing you want is for 80 of those people to simply go away without buying anything from you !

ClickFunnels for Trading: How Do Sales Funnels Work?

Do you remember when I said that a sales funnel looks like a funnel?

That’s because it is.

A sales funnel has five parts:

Entry Point

To draw an analogy to a real-life funnel, think of your Entry Point as the wide top where the traffic enters.

It might be a webinar you’re hosting, an advertisement on Facebook or something else.

Landing Page

The Landing Page is the funnel itself, where visitors are directed to after they click on that link or ad.

Squeeze Page/s

Squeeze Pages are pages that appear between your Landing Page and Thank You Page.

These pages contain a ‘squeeze’ form that ask visitors to submit their contact information before they get access to the next funnel part – whether it’s a webinar or something else.

Thank You Page

The Thank You Page is where you thank your visitor for submitting their contact information, let them know what will happen next and ask for their business.

Follow Up Funnels

Finally, the Follow Up Funnels is an email message that goes out to visitors after they submit their contact information.

This message contains whatever tailored content you want in it—such as a link to your Product Launch Page or something else.

ClickFunnels for Trading: How Does This Apply to Traders?

If you’re a trader, then how does this apply to you and your trading business?

Well, if you run an advertising campaign or sponsored webinar that tries to get visitors’ contact information, then that’s your Entry Point.

After they click on the link or ad, they enter your Sales Funnel through your Landing Page, which is whatever web page they get directed to after clicking on the advertisement.

From there, you show them different offers or contests on your Squeeze Pages in order to get their contact information.

Finally, you offer them something of value on your Thank You Page and ask for their business in return — whether it’s a newsletter subscription or something else.

From there, the Auto-Responder sends them whatever you want after they submit their contact information.

That could be an autoresponder sequence containing specific content that educates them about your trading strategies, for example.

ClickFunnels for Trading: Sales Process For Trader

The sales process for a trader is similar to the sales process for any other type of business.

It starts with advertising and ends with getting an order.

However, there are different steps to this process that are specific to trading.

Here are the seven major steps in the trading sales funnel:

Metadata Matching

This is where you find potential targets for your offer.

For example, if you’re a day trader, then you can search for people who have visited top financial websites and blogs related to trading.

These are the people most likely to be interested in your offer so this step involves finding them and putting together a list of names.

Finding Your Targets

You have to find your target audience. You can use social media to do this or use trading-related forums, blogs and websites.

Once you have a list of prospects, the next step is to qualify each person on that list using a qualification matrix.

This step involves checking for things like company size, revenue and other factors to make sure they are actually a good fit for your offer.

Creating the Offer

This involves creating an offer specifically designed for your target with content that is relevant to them.  It also includes building trust, so you have to craft this information carefully and deliver it effectively to each person on your list.

Enticing Your Target

Once you have created your offer, it’s time to entice your target.  You do this by providing proof and other supporting materials to convince them that they need what you’re offering.

This includes showing testimonials and case studies of people who got good results from your product or service.

Converting Your Target

Once you have enticed your target with proof, you need to convince them that they should buy from you.

You can do this by providing a price advantage, showing the value of your offer and showing what they will get if they invest in your product or service.

Taking Action

Once people indicate that they want to make a purchase, it’s time to take action.  You do this by setting up your order form and calling people who have agreed to purchase or selling through an ecommerce website.

Create a Lead Capture Page

This is the first step in the sales funnel because it catches all of your traffic.

A lead capture page can be anything that gets people to take action.  It can be a simple form that asks for an email address or it can be something more complex like a webinar registration page.

The main purpose of this step is to capture leads, so you need to offer some type of value in exchange for information.  This can come in the form of a white paper, ebook or training videos.

You can also offer free trials of your product or service in exchange for contact information.

This step is crucial because it’s the only way you will get traffic to enter your sales funnel.

Once someone fills out a form on one of these pages, they are directed to another page in your sales funnel.

ClickFunnels for Trading: Build the Funnel

This step involves creating pages for each part of your sales funnel.

You can use ClickFunnels to create all these pages and put them together into one funnel that takes people through the entire process.

To build a complete trading lead generation, sales and marketing funnel, you need to create the following pages:

  • Lead capture page
  • Squeeze page
  • Homepage
  • Webinar registration page
  • Webinar landing page
  • Thank you page (or order confirmation page)
  • Upsell page
  • Downsale page

The number of pages you need will depend on the details of your specific offer.  As a general rule, most funnels have about 6 to 8 pages in them.

Landing Page Elements For Traders

There are some elements that you must have on every page of your funnel.

These include:

  • A headline
  • An image or video
  • Sub-headlines (2 to 3)
  • Bullet points (3 to 5)
  • Text content (about 500 words)

This information should tell people exactly what they will get if they buy from you.

It also needs to entice them enough to take action.

This means using words and phrases that create interest and encourage people to buy.

  • Properly Craft Your Call-to-Action (CTA)

The final step of the funnel is your call-to-action, which tells people what you want them to do next.

Once you have created your funnel, it’s time to put it to work.

ClickFunnels for Trading: Traffic For Traders

If you want your funnel to work, you need traffic.

This means getting visitors to the pages in your sales funnel.

You can do this by creating social media ads, running PPC campaigns or producing content that attracts backlinks from other sites.

You can also use paid advertising on Google AdWords or Facebook Ads to send traffic to your pages.

Once people visit your funnel, they need to be able to see all the offers you have made available.

Make sure your squeeze page clearly communicates these offers and identifies which one is most popular with visitors.

After people make their selection, they will need to proceed through each part of the sales process in the order you have planned.

This requires an effective sequence of follow-up pages that follows them through the funnel.

Offer A Price Advantage

There are only 3 reasons people buy anything:  they want it, they need it or they already own it.

The last case is simple because all that’s required is a purchase price offer that is lower than the going rate.

You can have a sale, offer discounts for bulk purchases or just place a low price on your product or service.

If you are trying to sell an intangible item like information, it’s trickier because there is no set price point.

In this case, you need to demonstrate the value of your offering and create urgency that encourages people to buy.

You can offer bonuses, limited-time sales or discounts for early purchases.

The goal is to get visitors into the funnel so you can convert them into buyers.

ClickFunnels for Trading: Conversion Rate Optimization

The final step of the sales process is to make sure people actually buy.

This includes things like the same pain points they will fee such as security issues, fear of making a mistake and information overload.
